Well Hello There! Now that I've got your attention (c'mon smile!:-) I just wanted to make our GeneaFamily aware that Carnival of African-American Genealogy submissions are open to EVERYONE!
Until a recent "clarification" of participants was requested, it never dawned on me that folks in the geneablogging community may not be crystal-clear that we welcome CoAAG submissions from both geneabloggers and non-bloggers, irrespective of the hue you've been blessed with!:-)
So please, share with us the influence your Grandmother(s) has/had in your life and family. The April 12th deadline is fast approaching!
As we continue to share with one another, I think we'll be surprised to find our similarities far outweigh our differences.
Heck, that's what makes us a perfectly multi-hued community of Ancestor lovers!
See ya at the CoAAG!:-)

I had to laugh at this posts. My grandmothers were born and lived in rural Kansas - one biracial, one fair; they didn't attend black schools, and didn't attend black churches, etc. So I was going to pass on this carnival. But now...I will proudly write about my grandma affectionately nicknamed "white Grandma" (fair skinned) by us 7 grandkids.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, how is it that I missed your comment?!:-)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you saw through my humor, to the heart of the matter -- we love Grandmas of every hue & CoAAG participation is open to the GeneaCommunity as a whole.
Thanks for joining in the honoring of ALL Grandmas!:-)
Luckie.
